RedStep Coaching

My life experience and cross-cultural adventures have made me an empathetic listener and have helped me to develop a creative approach to relationships. I am optimistic in outlook and have a good sense of humour.

Having traversed significant transitions, grown through loss as well as soared in the process of personal transformation; I place a high value on providing a safe space to enable growth.

Living in Istanbul with my family for 8 years, I made the multiple adjustments necessary for life in a new culture. This experience gave me insight into the unique challenges and needs of internationally mobile adults and children.

I counselled refugees from Africa and the Middle East, navigating the complex UNHCR and other migration resources potentially available to asylum seekers in Turkey.

I managed recruitment and HR at an International School in Istanbul.

In the mid 80's, as HIV was becoming known, I negotiated the delicate issues and agendas involved in the implementation of upgraded nursing care programmes at 20+ community hospitals across South Africa, all run by volunteer management committees.

Alongside much of the above I have partnered in the raising of 3 spirited and now emerging adult children.

Most recently, I initiated and engaged with an organisation change process in a well established faith based organisation. In the process, I focused on building teams, facilitating groups, managing conflict and systematically implementing change.

I have completed a B.Soc.Sci degree majoring in Psychology and Nursing as well as a Diploma in Practitioner Coaching from the The Integral Coaching Centre in Cape Town as well as a Master Career Coaching Certificate. Alongside these formal qualifications come a host of other courses and learning experiences that inform my approach and who I am as a coach.
